IDROCALCE

It is a two-component smoothing and waterproofing system. Component A is biocompatible pre-packaged powder for interior and exterior use in accordance with EN 998-1.

IDROCALCE is totally free of cement and compounds belonging to the clinker group. It consists of a mixture of pure silica-calcareous sands, screened with a continuous grain size range from 0 to 0.6 mm. The only binder present is Pure Natural Hydraulic Lime NHL 5 in accordance with UNI EN 459-1. Lime NHL 5, which is white in colour, is produced by firing siliceous limestones at temperatures below 1,250° C and reduced to a powder by extinguishing the calcium oxide alone, without the addition of pozzolanic materials or hydraulic binders of any kind. Component B is a concentrated emulsion that ensures perfect adhesion to the subbase and gives the waterproofing layer considerable elasticity and resistance.

Fields of application

IDROCALCE is specific as a simple skim coat or reinforced with glass fibre mesh TCS Glass CK 155 protective and waterproofing for all surfaces in need of protection. It can be used on both vertical and horizontal surfaces composed of solid bricks, load-bearing hollow bricks, lightweight hollow bricks, mixed bricks, rubble, and tuff. Additionally, it is suitable for application on compact or non-absorbent surfaces like solid or hollow concrete blocks, expanded clay granules, cellular conglomerate blocks, lime or cement-based subbases, reinforced concrete structures, magnesium wood, or screeds. Top curtains of fences or existing walls where protection from water infiltration and reduction of degradation effects is desired.
